May is Jewish American Heritage Month
Jewish American Heritage Week was proclaimed in 1980 by President Jimmy Carter. In 2006 under President George W. Bush the celebration grew to a full month. See links to the history of Jewish American Heritage Month in our Featured Document section, as well as educational resources and teaching ideas. Watch a video of President Obama marking the 2012 Jewish American Heritage Month in our Featured Video section.
The official website of Jewish American Heritage Month offers educational resources drawn from 350th.org, the website for the 350th anniversary of Jews in the US in 2004. You will find some interesting and worthwhile lesson plans there (please note that some of the links are no longer functional).
Of course our page on American Jewish history is a great place to look for information, primary sources and videos on Jews in America
